Supernova Design Studio – LUXURY YACHT INTERIOR DESIGN: Concept, Furniture & Styling

Solafide is a 52-meter motor yacht built by Benetti. Our team managed the entire interior refit process, from design to execution, including on-site supervision. We completely transformed the yacht using beautiful materials like eucalyptus wood, white leather, decorative glass, and white onyx. Our goal was to create a modern and elegant design while still respecting the yacht’s original build year of 1994. We optimized space by redesigning internal bulkheads and custom-designed sofas and furnishings to complement the overall aesthetic. We also furnished the outdoor areas with custom cushions and loose furniture, enhancing flexibility and comfort. The project was widely recognised, being shortlisted as Best Refit at the Boat International Design & Innovation Awards and Design et al Awards, and winning the ISS Awards 2025 for Best Refit.

The refit profoundly redefined both the onboard layout and the overall living experience, introducing a new level of flexibility, comfort, and spatial intelligence. Supernova Design Studio was responsible not only for the design but also for the production of the interiors, including the fabrication of wall paneling, bespoke built-in furniture, custom sofas, and the careful selection of loose furniture, ensuring a cohesive and highly tailored result throughout.

On the Main Deck, the dining area was completely reimagined: fixed elements were removed to allow for a custom-designed table that can accommodate the entire family, enhancing both usability and social interaction. The introduction of a new VIP suite—one of the owner’s key requests—adds a refined, private retreat that integrates seamlessly with the yacht’s updated aesthetic.

On the Upper Deck, a multifunctional lounge was conceived as a highly adaptable space, effortlessly transforming from a relaxed TV and social area into a fully functional four-person guest cabin when required.

A complete overhaul of lighting and electrical systems enhances atmosphere and functionality, with layered lighting schemes that transition seamlessly from day to night. Carefully selected materials and mirrored surfaces amplify natural light and reflections, creating an immersive environment that continuously interacts with the surrounding seascape.
